Hotwaxxx was set up in January 2006 and has been running as a one man team ever since.

I'll begin by introducing myself. I am Dave, aged 29 with a passion for cars dating back as far as I care to remember. Although the heart of a car is its engine, I have always believed the bodywork is the pure essence of what makes a car special. With this in mind, I decided to make use of my spare weekends and began detailing cars and this has now grown into a full-time job which I have been doing for over 3 years having detailed over a hundred cars ranging from a Ferrari 430 and Porsche 911 to a Volkswagon Golf and Vauxhall Corsa.

I first got into detailing in 2004 as I treated my 1991 BRG Mazda MX5 to a comprehensive wash and shine prior to attending the Japanese Auto Extravaganza (JAE) where I received a host of positive comments from fellow car lovers. And it was there where I was first to machine polishing and more specifically, the Porter Cable 7424.

I immediately had one shipped over from America and set about working on family and friend's cars and word soon began to spread. At the end of 2005, I must have detailed 30 cars or so over a period of 18 months and it was then that I decided to make it official and Hotwaxxx was duly born. Since the birth of Hotwaxxx, I have detailed over 75 cars and am pleased to announce that Hotwaxxx has continued to grow at a steady rate into 2008.

As the years have progressed, product choice has improved significantly from the early days where I used products solely from the AutoGlym and Sonus range. I now utilise more specialised detailing products from all manner of manufacturers including Chemical Guys, Dodo Juice, Menzerna, Meguiars, Poorboys, Swissvax, Zymol and 3M to name just a few. In early 2007, I added a Metabo Rotary to my detailing artillery and am now proficient in machine correction using a rotary polisher which gives far superior results than that ever achievable from a dual-action polisher such as the Porter Cable 7424.

Hotwaxxx is predominantly run by one man - myself. This means I am solely responsible for all things Hotwaxxx and am able to maintain the high standards I set myself on all the cars I detail. I only work weekends and limit myself to a car per weekend which enables me to dedicate two full days to each car I detail. I also charge a fixed flat fee and not by the hour which means the customer is aware of how much the detail is going to cost beforehand with no hidden surprises.
